Laser Scientist

Synrad has an opening for a Laser Scientist. This position is involved in the long term strategy of R&D efforts as well as responsible for the everyday operation of R&D projects and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Maintain familiarity with the state of the art  technology in the field of lasers and optics and make suggestions concerning future directions of R&D efforts.

Coordinate new product design and development.

Support production.

Manage R&D team and R&D projects.

Coordinate efforts between R&D and other departments.

Position has authority to make decisions within the guidelines of existing corporate R&D policies and approved  budget. 

Contribute to team effort.

REQUIREMENTS:   

Masters degree in a related field of Science or Engineering. 3+ years of practical experience in an R&D environment. Proven track record in scientific research and technological innovation in the field of lasers and optics.  Strong leadership and management skills.

Vision: Near, Depth and color perception.

Enthusiasm and excellent communication skills required.
