Marking high temperature clear ceramic using a 10W laser.  
Heat resistant to 1400° F, the clear ceramic material in the photo above is used for windows in high temperature ovens and furnaces.  The ceramic was marked with a 0.125" high human readable lot code and a 2D Data Matrix code using a 10W Synrad CO2 laser, with a cycle time of  3 seconds.  Both the 2D code and the alphanumeric code were marked using WinMark Pro's spot marking style.  See WinMark Pro Application notes #1- Spot Style 2D Data Matrix Codes (download PDF version) for a step-by-step tutorial on setting up a spot-style 2D code.
