 Cutting Plastic Mesh

Process Date: May 2002

We created clean cuts with sealed edges on the mesh using 55W at a speed of 432 inches per minute, and a spot size of 0.004.  In this particular example, we used our new Firestar Series f100 laser with the UC-2000 controller, and 3psi air assist gas.  

Plastic mesh is used in a wide variety of industrial applications including filtration (filters), food processing, and fishing because of the nature of the material’s resistance to chemicals and corrosion. 


Synrad CO2 lasers produce smooth edges when cutting plastic mesh.
