The readable contrasting marks on the saw blades
were created using a Synrad 125W laser at a speed of 4.5 inches per
second with a resolution of 425 dpi.
The matrix code has a cycle time of 5.7 seconds, and the barcode has a cycle time of 18.9 seconds.
While engraved marks on thin metal could potentially weaken the strength of the material, these permanent contrasting marks were created on the surface of the blade leaving the strength of the material unaffected.

These stainless steel saw blades were marked with 1- and 2-D codes using a 125W laser.
